高二英語(yǔ)詞匯：與face面對(duì)面

 　　1. be faced with 面臨。

　　如： They are all faced with the same problem.

　　他們都面臨同樣的問(wèn)題。

　　2. face the music 承當(dāng)后果

　　如：You’ve been caught cheating ---- now you must face the music.

　　你的騙局被戳穿了，現(xiàn)在你得自食其果了。

　　3. face to face (with) 面對(duì)面，面臨，當(dāng)面。

　　如：He stood face to face with her.

　　他與她面對(duì)面站著。

　　He came face to face with death.

　　他面臨死亡。

　　4. in (the) face of

　　(1) 面對(duì)。

　　如：He showed great bravery in face of danger.

　　在危險(xiǎn)面前他表現(xiàn)出非常勇敢。

　　(2) 盡管，不顧。

　　如：He succeeded in the face of great difficulties.

　　盡管有巨大困難，但他還是成功了。

　　5. lose face 丟面了。

　　如：He lost face with his friends.

　　他在朋友面前丟了面子。

　　6. make a face (at)

　　皺眉頭， 做苦相， 做鬼臉。

　　如：He made a face when he saw the pile of work.

　　看到一大堆活，他皺起了眉頭。

　　注：有時(shí) face 可用復(fù)數(shù)。

　　如：The children made faces at one another.

　　孩子們相互做鬼臉。

　　7. pull [wear] a long face愁眉苦臉的樣子， 板著面孔。

　　如：She pulled a long face when she heard that.

　　他聽(tīng)到這話之后， 顯示出一副不高興的樣子。

　　8. save face 保全面子。

　　如：She kept silent about that in order to save face.

　　為了保全面子，她對(duì)那事只字未提。
