　　■The English lessons that Miss Helen taught us were lively and interesting.(誤)

　　析：teach sb.a lesson意為“教訓(xùn)某人一頓”。根據(jù)句意，應(yīng)將taught改為gave.

　　■The big fire spread through the building quickly，but luckily everybody tried to escape.(誤)

　　析：try to do表示“試圖做某事”，但成功與否不確定。manage to do的含義是“設(shè)法做成某事”。根據(jù)句意應(yīng)使用managed to escape或was able to escape.

　　■We all persuaded Father to give up smoking，but he wouldn’t listen.(誤)

　　析：persuade的含義是“成功地勸說(說服)某人做某事”。根據(jù)句意應(yīng)使用tried to persuade.

　　■The young man pointed to a policeman over there，explained and said，“He stopped us half an hour ago.”(誤)

　　析：語義重復(fù)。應(yīng)將and said去掉。explain本身就是“解釋說”的意思，沒必要再與say連用。另外，把“over there，explained”改成over there and explained就更連貫了。
