　　英美經(jīng)濟(jì)貿(mào)易報(bào)刊在描寫(xiě)經(jīng)濟(jì)貿(mào)易發(fā)展趨勢(shì)時(shí)經(jīng)常要根據(jù)過(guò)去，目前情況對(duì)未來(lái)表示預(yù)測(cè)，如：
　　A survey of leading bankers projects that job cuts in the industry will average some 90,000 jobs annually until the year 2000.
　　一份由主要銀行家提供的調(diào)查報(bào)告預(yù)計(jì)，到2000年，工業(yè)方面每年將大約削減9萬(wàn)份工作。
　　On the other hand, unemployment is expected to rise everywhere, to the highest level known since the Korean war.
　　另一方面，失業(yè)人數(shù)預(yù)計(jì)會(huì)在全球范圍內(nèi)上升，達(dá)到朝鮮戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)以來(lái)的最高水平。
　　Moreover, monetary policy cannot ignore fiscal policy. The Fed will probably want to wait and see how much near-term deficit reduction is contained in the 1996 federal budget before sanctioning another drop in rates.
　　此外，貨幣政策不能忽視國(guó)家的財(cái)政政策。聯(lián)邦儲(chǔ)備委員會(huì)很可能在批準(zhǔn)利率再度下調(diào)之前等待和觀(guān)望1996年的聯(lián)邦預(yù)算短期赤字削減為多少。
　　用于預(yù)測(cè)未來(lái)經(jīng)濟(jì)貿(mào)易發(fā)展趨勢(shì)的詞匯主要有：forecast, project, anticipate, expect, hope, etc.
　　對(duì)未來(lái)的經(jīng)濟(jì)與貿(mào)易政策和發(fā)展趨勢(shì)所作出的預(yù)測(cè)，通常有如下三種形式：1) 肯定的(certain)；2) 可能性比較大的(probable)；3) 只有一般可能性的(possible)。
　　1. 表示通貨膨脹肯定要上升時(shí)的表達(dá)方式：
　　Inflation will / is bound to / is certain to / is about to / will certainly / will surely / will definitely / will no doubt increase.
　　(It is certain that inflation will increase.)
　　2. 表示通貨膨脹很有可能要上升的表達(dá)方式：
　　Inflation is likely to / should / would / will probably increase.
　　(It is probable that inflation will increase.)
　　3. 表示通貨膨脹只是一般有可能上升的表達(dá)方式：
　　Inflation may / will possibly / might / could increase.
　　(It is possible that inflation will increase.)
　　西方報(bào)刊中，表示經(jīng)濟(jì)貿(mào)易狀況及預(yù)測(cè)未來(lái)發(fā)展趨勢(shì)的詞匯很多，除以上提到的動(dòng)詞機(jī)構(gòu)外，還有名詞、形容詞。另外，掌握固定的前置詞結(jié)構(gòu)，對(duì)準(zhǔn)確把握和理解經(jīng)濟(jì)貿(mào)易發(fā)展變化的程度也很有幫助。
　　常與百分比搭配使用的固定前置詞有：
　　to grow / to fall / to increase / to rise / to cut / to go down / to drop by 5%
　　to run at a rate of 5%
