　　(1) 做完;讀完;寫完;吃完

　　How long does it take you to get through a letter?

　　你寫一封信要花多少時(shí)間?

　　(2) 通過(考試、議案等)

　　He got through the driving license test last week.

　　上周他通過了駕駛執(zhí)照考試。

　　(3) 穿越;穿過

　　The alley aheadis narrow, so atruck can't get through

　　it.

　　前面的巷子很窄，所以卡車沒辦法通過。

　　(4) 給……接通電話

　　A little patience, and I'll get you through.

　　耐心一點(diǎn)，我就給你接通電話。

　　[拓展] get through 也可用作不及物動(dòng)詞，意為“(電

　　話)接通”。

　　I called all day yesterday, but I couldn't get through

　　(to you).

　　昨天我打了一天電話，但是都沒辦法聯(lián)絡(luò)到你。

　　Marx's ideas gave birth to communism. 馬克思的思想

　　孕育了共產(chǎn)主義。

　　[考查目標(biāo)]此題主要考查give短語的用法。

　　[答案與解析]A give up 放棄，戒掉;give in 屈服，讓

　　步;give out 分發(fā);give away 贈(zèng)送，給予。本段對(duì)話討

　　論的是有關(guān)戒煙的事，最后一句話意思是“但我只是戒

　　不掉”。
