北京王府學(xué)校于2017年1月獲得了由ACS WASC(美國(guó)西部學(xué)校與學(xué)院聯(lián)盟)頒發(fā)的候選資質(zhì)。WASC作為美國(guó)六大區(qū)域認(rèn)證機(jī)構(gòu)之一，在美國(guó)本土乃至全世界的教育領(lǐng)域都享有極高的聲譽(yù)。從成立至今，WASC以其高標(biāo)準(zhǔn)嚴(yán)要求成為了學(xué)術(shù)誠(chéng)信、學(xué)生能力發(fā)展的保障。畢業(yè)于WASC認(rèn)證學(xué)校的學(xué)生，其學(xué)術(shù)成績(jī)和綜合實(shí)力也會(huì)在世界范圍內(nèi)得到較高的認(rèn)可。王府學(xué)校更為看中的是通過(guò)認(rèn)證過(guò)程讓學(xué)校的方方面面不斷提升。

　　We're proud to announce that Beijing Royal School has become a WASC candidate school since January 2017. WASC is one of the six official academic bodies responsible for the accreditation of universities and schools both inside and outside the United States. Accreditation means that a school is a trustworthy institution for student learning with high standards of educational quality and academic integrity. What BRS values more is how the school can actually improve its performance through the accreditation process.

　　2016年11月，WASC專家組到訪王府學(xué)校，與校董事會(huì)、管理團(tuán)隊(duì)、教職員工、學(xué)生及家長(zhǎng)進(jìn)行隨機(jī)座談，并查看了教學(xué)區(qū)和住宿區(qū)的每一個(gè)角落，對(duì)王府學(xué)校的方方面面進(jìn)行了細(xì)致而嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)?shù)目己�。認(rèn)證專家們肯定了王府學(xué)校多年來(lái)辦學(xué)的成就，高度贊揚(yáng)了學(xué)校全體成員渴望不斷提升成為國(guó)際名校的意愿和行動(dòng)力;同時(shí)也為王府學(xué)校接下來(lái)的發(fā)展給出了十分中肯的建議與指導(dǎo)。

　　We had our initial visit from WASC in November 2016. The visiting committee interviewed the school board, the school administration, staff, students and parents. Rigorous observations were also conducted on every aspect of the school’s operation. The visiting committee celebrated with us our achievements over the years, and recognized our commitment and also our actual effort to grow into a top-tier international school. Valuable suggestions and guidance were also given by the visiting committee on how BRS can further improve.

　　王府學(xué)校致力于培養(yǎng)具有自我意識(shí)，能夠在世界背景下進(jìn)行有效溝通，以批判創(chuàng)新的能力思考解決問(wèn)題的國(guó)際復(fù)合型人才，這一目標(biāo)與WASC培養(yǎng)國(guó)際公民競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力的要求不謀而合。王府學(xué)校對(duì)傳承中國(guó)文化的使命感更是獲得了認(rèn)證專家的好評(píng)。

　　Our school-wide learner outcomes, namely “Self-awareness, Effective communication, Critical thinking and Problem Solving, Responsible and Involved Citizenship”, are in alignment with the philosophy of “global competency” which WASC believes is critical for today’s education. The responsibility which we have given ourselves to help the students understand the Chinese culture was greatly acclaimed by the visiting committee.

　　教育是世界和平發(fā)展的根本。辦好教育雖不易卻是我們教育者不可推卸的責(zé)任。王府學(xué)校會(huì)一如既往地通過(guò)自我反思和外部的高標(biāo)準(zhǔn)評(píng)估，實(shí)現(xiàn)高質(zhì)量的教育教學(xué)，立志為學(xué)生的成就而不懈努力。

　　Education is the key to world peace and development. We as educators deem it our responsibility to provide education no matter the challenges. And to that end, BRS will never cease to self-reflect and seek external evaluation.
