Harry ： Are we too late for our dinner reservation ？

    Susan ： No ， the restaurant will hold our table. I know the owner
very well. I eat there a lot.

時(shí)用"Who is it？" 或"Who is that？" 來(lái)確認(rèn)對(duì)方的身份。

    Intercom，對(duì)講機(jī)，是intercommunication system 的縮寫。在美國(guó)的一些
公寓樓安裝了對(duì)講機(jī)。來(lái)訪者，像Harry 在樓外通過(guò)對(duì)講機(jī)與Susan 聯(lián)系，她在
房間內(nèi)可通過(guò)按紐把樓下大門打開(kāi)，放Harry 進(jìn)來(lái)。

話。這時(shí)有可能是房間真的不夠整潔，也有可能只是出于客套。

，這是Harry Bennett. 在介紹兩個(gè)人見(jiàn)面時(shí)，一般是把男子介紹給女子，把地位
低的人介紹給地位高的人，把客人介紹給主人。說(shuō)法是"This is……" 或省去 This
is而只說(shuō)一下雙方姓名。被介紹的人互相說(shuō)"Nice to meet you." 或"Pleased to
meet you." sister-in-law：嫂子，大、小姑子，大、小姨子，弟媳。

    4. Are we too late for our dinner reservation ？

    Reservation ：預(yù)訂（席位、車、機(jī)、船票、旅館房間等）。
