    2. constant a. 不變的，恒定的  n. 常數

    3. cliff n. 懸崖，峭壁

    The sea had undermined the cliff.

    海水侵蝕了懸崖的基部。

    4. authority n. 權威；當局

    We see him as an authority on the subject.

    The new building must be financed by the local authority.

    新大樓的建筑資金必須由地方當局提供。

    5.audio a. 聽覺

    6. attitude n. 態(tài)度

    attitude后常接towards/to，指“對于……的態(tài)度，看法”，如her attitude towards/to the question（她對這個問題的看法）。

    10. distinguish vt. 區(qū)分，辨別

    詞義辨析：distinguish， discern， discriminate

    distinguish： 普通用詞，指辨別者的能力或實際觀察到的區(qū)別，強調辨別所需的技巧。

    discern： 語義較籠統(tǒng)，著重精深與準確的觀察力，不一定有能力辨別關系密切的各項事物。

    discriminate： 語氣強，指從十分相似的事物中辨出差異，尤其把好壞區(qū)分開來。
