當(dāng)然，打電話也并非盡善盡美，也有其煩人之時(shí)。譬如，你給某人打去電話時(shí)，對(duì)方正忙得很。你最好禮貌地表示一下歉意，可以說(shuō)："I am sorry to make a phone call to you when you are very busy ".（你現(xiàn)在正是很忙的時(shí)候，我卻打電話給你，很對(duì)不起）。如果你有十分緊急的事需打電話給某人，又是清晨或半夜了，可以說(shuō)："I am
sorry to have called you so early ，but……"（這么早打電話給你，對(duì)不起，但是……）。Sorry to have waked you wp
�。▽�(duì)不起，把你吵醒了）。"I am sorry to have called you at such a late time but ……"（這么晚打電話給你，真對(duì)不起，但是……）
如果在打電話或接聽(tīng)電話時(shí)，中途為了某事而不得不暫時(shí)中斷與對(duì)方的通話，需請(qǐng)對(duì)方等候一下時(shí)，可以說(shuō)："Excuse me 或
Excuse me for a moment"（對(duì)不起，請(qǐng)稍等一下），再次拿起話筒時(shí)，自然要向?qū)Ψ降狼福瑧?yīng)該說(shuō)："I am sorry to have kept you waiting so long "（很抱歉讓您久等了）。熟人之間也可以直接說(shuō)："Are you still there "？（你還聽(tīng)著嗎？）。
結(jié)束通話時(shí)，可以說(shuō)："Call me at any time"（隨時(shí)打電話來(lái)），"Please say hello to everyone "（請(qǐng)代我向大家問(wèn)好），"Nice talking to you "（很高興與你通話）等等。電話中的告別一般用Good bye ！或See you ！
另外，電話號(hào)碼在英語(yǔ)中的讀法。一般按號(hào)碼的順序讀數(shù)字的讀音即可。數(shù)字0，即可讀作Zero，連在一起的相同的數(shù)字還可讀成double…。 如0771-5678900 讀作zero double seven one five six seven eight nine zero zero 詢問(wèn)對(duì)方電話號(hào)碼時(shí)，可以說(shuō) Could you tell me your telephone number ？ What's your number？ Can you tell me his home number等。
