做好入學準備的關鍵因素:
考慮到孩子們幼小銜接的重要性,在幼小銜接過程中孩子需要培養(yǎng)哪些基礎的技能呢?學校應該設立怎樣的課程幫助孩子們培養(yǎng)這些技能從而使他們將來可以取得成功呢?
Key issues regarding readiness:
Given the importance to get our children to be ready for their elementary education, what are the essential skills for them to develop during their transition between preschool and elementary school? And what kind of school program should be created to foster such skills to maximize their success in the future?
其中關鍵我們必須清楚小學與幼兒園有以下幾點不同:
Key we must clear the elementary school and kindergarten has the following different:
1--生活節(jié)奏不同the pace of life is different
2--學習方式不同studies in a different way
3--人際關系不同relationships are different
4--期望水平不同different desired level
有些家長認為孩子升入小學應該培養(yǎng)更多的學習技能(例如:閱讀和寫作)。當然,這些很有價值,但是對于我們的孩子而言:
更重要的是擁有良好的社交技能,認知能力和體能,為自己成為自信的學習者,能夠終身學習打下基礎。
Some parents may believe that children require more academic skills (e.g. reading and writing skills) for them to be prepared for elementary education. While these skills have its value,
it is more important for our children to have good(1) social skills, (2) cognitive skills and (3) physical skills) as a confident learner to set the foundations for a lifetime of learning !

Our effective transition from pre-school into elementary school will:
1:讓孩子理解并體驗到學校是一個安全的,受保護的,開心的場所。Give children a positive understanding and experience of school as a safe, secure and enjoyable place
2:本著學校多元智能的理念,承認每個孩子都有個體的需要,興趣和技能。Acknowledge that children have individual needs, interests and skills, coming from our school philosophy in multiple intelligence theory.
3:允許和鼓勵孩子,學校和家長之間積極地溝通Allow and encourage positive communication between children and our school educators and their families
4:在老師和孩子之間建立有感應的,積極的關系To build responsive, positive relationships between children and their carers
5:依照學生的進度來實施教學(例如:課程設置考慮該年齡段孩子的注意力可持續(xù)的時間)Deliver the curriculum at the children’s pace (e.g. to cater for children’s attention span for this age group)
6:在學生可以積極選擇參與不同的學習站的時候,提供學生自由選擇的機會(比如,閱讀,數(shù)字,英語語音,藝術)Provide free choice time where children can actively choose to participate in a variety of learning stations (e.g. reading, numeracy, English phonics, arts)
7:提供多種形式的有組織的和自由的教學活動以滿足學生需要Provide a diversified form of structure and unstructured teaching and learning activities to suit our students’ needs
8:引導學生逐漸適應有組織的,正式的課堂學習Guide our children gradually towards their adjustment in structured and formal classroom learning
9:英語為母語的有經驗有資質的小學老師教授我們孩子國際課程Experienced and qualified elementary teachers (from native English speaking countries) to teach our children through international model of education
10:有經驗有資質的國內小學老師輔助孩子從文化和語言上適應國際課程Experienced and qualified Chinese elementary teachers to assist our children to adjust into our international program culturally and linguistically
11:基于美國通用教學大綱的美式幼兒園課程,在有效的ESL課程的輔助下,為孩子建立良好的英語基礎An outstanding Americanized kindergarten curriculum based on Common Core States Standards, supported by an effective ESL program to build English foundations for our children
