| “刪去下列法律中關于‘投機倒把’‘投機倒把罪’的規(guī)定，并作出修改”。本月24日提請十一屆全國人大常委會第十次會議再次審議的關于修改部分法律的決定草案做出如上規(guī)定。從今以后，“投機倒把”將成為歷史名詞。那么“投機倒把”用英文該如何表達呢？ 請看《中國日報》的報道： Last October, at the height of an anti-crime campaign, the county grain bureau and the industrial and commercial agency accused Jiang Maoquan, a grain merchant and shipper, of speculation and profiteering. 去年十月，在一場反犯罪活動的高潮中，縣糧食局和工商局控告販糧運糧商江毛全（音）投機倒把罪。 在上面的報道中，speculation and profiteering就是指“投機倒把”，常以speculative buying（投機性買入）為開端，并在日后speculative selling（高價賣出），因此“投機倒把”還可以用speculative buying and selling來表達，這包括利用selling short（買空賣空）, hoarding and cornering（囤積居奇）, fraudulent purchase and resale（套購轉(zhuǎn)賣）等方式獲取暴利。 例如：Very few people know that he is engaged in speculative buying and selling.（很少有人知道他是做投機倒把生意的）。 在以往短缺經(jīng)濟和價格雙軌制的雙重作用下，社會還滋生出一大批靠speculation and profiteering發(fā)財?shù)摹暗範敗�。他們憑借手中的權(quán)力，搞到平價的緊俏產(chǎn)品，然后高價賣出。這些“倒爺”就被稱為profiteer或者wheeler-dealer. |
