一、二至十年級MAP測試（MAP Test from Grade 2 to 10）

　　9月下旬，北京君誠學校二至十年級的學生統(tǒng)一參加了為期兩周的MAP測試。MAP測試是一個在美國和全球公認的學業(yè)評估系統(tǒng)，采用機考模式，測試學生在英語語言使用、數(shù)學和英語閱讀方面的學術(shù)水平。通過MAP測試，我們可以知道：

　　• 本學年用來衡量學生成長的基準分數(shù)，可以與往年數(shù)據(jù)相比較。• 百分數(shù)，顯示學生和世界各地的孩子組成的年級標準化小組的對比。• 在閱讀方面的 lexile 得分，幫助家長和學校選擇合適的英語書籍。• 非常詳細的連續(xù)學習，讓老師清楚學生該準備學習什么技能。(有關(guān)MAP的進一步詳細介紹，家長敬請移步以下鏈接：教學 | 揭開「MAP測試」的面紗) MAP測試沒有計時，每個測試模塊 80分鐘，但是大多數(shù)學生只需要 40 到 60 分鐘就可以完成測試。二年級的學生只參加閱讀和數(shù)學考試。3-5 年級的學生參加閱讀、語言運用和數(shù)學考試。6-10年級的學生參加閱讀，語言運用，數(shù)學和科學四門測試。MAP測試的重點不在于分數(shù)，其目的是幫助學校觀測學生在整學年的學術(shù)成長。

　　In late September, SIBS students from Grade2 to 10 took part in a two-week MAP test. MAP test is a recognized academic assessment system in the United States and around the world that uses a computer test model to test students' academic skills in English language application,mathematics as well as English reading.

　　With the MAP test, we can see:

　　• The benchmark scores used this school year to measure students’ growth, and it can be compared with previous years'data.

　　• Percentage, showing a comparison between our students and the standardized groups made up of students around the world.

　　• Lexile scores in reading to help parents and our school choose the right English books.

　　• Very detailed continuous learning to help the teacher know what skills the student should be prepared to learn.

　　The MAP test is not timed. Each test module is 80 minutes, but most students only need 40 to 60 minutes to complete the test. Grade 2 students only take English reading and math tests. Students from Grade 3 to 5 take English reading, English language application, and math tests. Students from Grade 6 to 10 take four tests: English reading, English language application, math and science.

　　The MAP test is not focusing on grades, and it is designed to help schools observe students' academic growth throughout the school year.

　　二、君誠足球隊在鼎石足球賽折冠

　　SIBS football team won the championship in Keystone football match

　　上周六，在鼎石學校舉辦的一場足球比賽中，君誠學校足球隊在Bob和Gino教練的帶領(lǐng)下，分成三隊參與角逐。其中男子2組一路所向披靡，小隊員們斗志昂揚，最終在小組賽折冠。男子1組則在另一個小組中取得第3，女子組取得了并列亞軍。同時，君誠足球隊獲得了體育精神獎(first prize in the category of sportsmanship)。 君誠學校歷來都非常重視學生的體育發(fā)展。足球是君誠的傳統(tǒng)強項，“Tiger”的名號在國際學校足球圈里提起來那也是響當當?shù)�，斬獲榮譽無數(shù)。讓我們向小隊員們表示最熱烈的祝賀吧!Go,Go, Tigers!Go,Go, SIBS!

　　On Saturday, in a football match held at Keystone Academy, SIBS football team was divided into three teams to participate in the competition under the leadership of Coach Bob and Gino. Among them, one of the boys’ team finally won the group stage, while the other got the third place in another group, and our girls’ team tied for the second place. At the same time, SIBS football team also won the first prize in the category of sportsmanship.

　　SIBS has always attached great importance to the students' physical development. Football is the traditional strength of our school, and the name of "Tiger" is also well known among international schools. Our football team has already won numerous honors. Let us express our warmest congratulations to the young players!

　　三、我校成為AMC澳大利亞數(shù)學競賽的指定官方考點

　　SIBS became the official test site for the AMC(Australia Math Competition)

　　上周六，全球超大規(guī)模的校際數(shù)學競賽——AMC澳大利亞數(shù)學競賽在君誠舉辦，我校被授予指定官方考點。AMC澳大利亞數(shù)學競賽有著41年的歷史，總計32個國家1450萬名學生參與，由國際權(quán)威學術(shù)機構(gòu)澳大利亞數(shù)學聯(lián)合會(AMT)舉辦。分成5個難度級別的考試，分別適合3年級至12年級的學生。

　　本次君誠共有17名學生參加競賽，分別來自5至9年級(參加B,C,D三個等級的考試)，比賽成績會在4-6周后公布到官網(wǎng)上。

　　Last Saturday, the world's super-large inter-school mathematics competition – AMC (Australia Mathematical Competition)was held in SIBS, and SIBS was also awarded the official test site. The Australian Mathematical Competition has a history of 41 years with a participation of over 14.5 million students from 32 countries, and it is hosted by the Australian Institute of Mathematics (AMT), an international academic institution. It is divided into 5 difficulty level exams, suitable for students from Grade 3 to 12.

　　This time, 17 students from Grade 5 to 9 of SIBS participated in the competition (including B, C, D three levels of exams), and the results will be announced to the official website after 4-6 weeks.

　　四、學前部本周活動

　　Events of Kindergarten this week

　　在祖國母親70歲生日之際，學前部組織孩子們學習了國慶節(jié)的由來，認識了國旗、國徽和國歌，觀看了以往國慶節(jié)的慶祝視頻。孩子們知道了中國正在變得越來越強大，決定通過自己動手制作五星紅旗，來祝福祖國生日快樂!

　　On the occasion of the motherland’s 70th birthday, the KG department organized kids to learn the origin of our National Day as well as the national flag, the emblem and the anthem. Kids also watched the videos of previous National Day celebration ceremony.

　　Through these activities, our kids have known that China is becoming more and more powerful and decided to make a birthday present to the motherland by making a national flag by themselves.

　　五、STEM課程面向中學部住宿生開設(shè)特別課程

　　STEM courses offer special courses for HS& MS residential students

　　FEG智能車創(chuàng)客項目是君誠中學部今年開設(shè)的STEM課程之一，由深圳大學信息中心聯(lián)合研發(fā)。每年會定期舉辦NOC智能車全國大賽，讓學生通過比賽了解環(huán)保、能源、材料、電子、交通安全、智能控制等，是集科技、創(chuàng)新、觀賞、實用為一體的科技比賽。

　　該課程每周一下午3：30-4：20向中學部住宿生免費開課。

　　FEG Smart Car Creator Project is one of the STEM courses offered by SIBS Secondary School this year, and it is jointly developed by Shenzhen University Information Center. The NOC Smart Car NationalCompetition is held every year regularly, and students can get better understanding of environmental protection, energy, materials, electronics, traffic safety, intelligent control, etc. Moreover, it is also a science and technology competition that integrates technology, innovation, appreciation and practicality.

　　This course is open free of charge every Monday from 3:30-4:20 p.m. for MS and HS residential students.
