一、君誠(chéng)師生到訪日本人學(xué)校交流學(xué)習(xí)SIBS visit the Beijing Japanese school

　　君誠(chéng)學(xué)校歷來(lái)非常重視學(xué)生的品格教育。為了更好地提升學(xué)生的素養(yǎng)，學(xué)習(xí)日本的文化、文明禮儀以及動(dòng)手能力，同時(shí)增進(jìn)國(guó)際學(xué)校之間的交流，本周四上午，君誠(chéng)學(xué)校的老師們帶領(lǐng)全體二年級(jí)的同學(xué)們到訪了日本人學(xué)校進(jìn)行學(xué)習(xí)。

　　小同學(xué)們進(jìn)入日本人學(xué)校的件事就是換上干凈的鞋子，學(xué)校內(nèi)的地板可是非常干凈整潔。在籃球場(chǎng)上，日本人學(xué)校一二年級(jí)的小朋友們整齊的坐在地板上熱烈歡迎君誠(chéng)師生，還給我們表演了活力滿滿的舞蹈。

　　為了體驗(yàn)日本人學(xué)校學(xué)生的日常生活，君誠(chéng)的孩子們?cè)诶蠋煹慕M織下有序的打掃教室和樓道的衛(wèi)生�？粗�小伙伴們忙活的熱火朝天，互幫互助，享受勞動(dòng)的快樂(lè)。結(jié)束后，雙方小朋友們互相贈(zèng)送小禮物，依依不舍的告別。

　　SIBS has always attached great importance to students' character education. In order to improve students' quality, learn Japanese culture, etiquette and practical ability, and enhance the communication between international schools, teachers of SIBS led all the students of grade two to visit the Japanese school in Beijing on Thursday morning. The first thing they did when they arrived at the Japanese school is to change into clean shoes. The floor is very clean and tidy. On the basketball court, grade 1 and grade 2 children of the Japanese school neatly sat on the floor warmly welcome SIBS teachers and students, also gave us a vigorous dance. Inorder to experience the daily life of Japanese school students, SIBS’s children were organized by their teachers to clean the classrooms and corridors in an orderly manner. Look at the friends being busy in full swing, help each other,enjoy the joy of labor. After the end, the two sides of the children gave each other small gifts, reluctant to part from the farewell.

　　二、小學(xué)圖書館升級(jí)啦!ES Library Update!

　　小學(xué)圖書館以一個(gè)嶄新的面孔又跟同學(xué)們見(jiàn)面啦!這次，圖書館新購(gòu)置了明亮鮮艷和豐富多彩的裝飾，溫馨的家具以及柔軟的地毯和靠墊，同學(xué)們可以盡情享受讀書的快樂(lè)。

　　找書現(xiàn)在也變得既簡(jiǎn)單又有趣。我們?cè)O(shè)置了字母瀏覽架，讓低年級(jí)的孩子在符合他們的視線里，一眼可見(jiàn)屬于他們水平的標(biāo)簽和書籍。所有非小說(shuō)類(non-fiction)書籍也很容易識(shí)別，每本書都有單獨(dú)的標(biāo)簽，以便學(xué)生在看完書之后可以將它們放回到正確的地方。這將有助于學(xué)生的讀書習(xí)慣過(guò)渡到中學(xué)圖書館階段。

　　所有的研究表明，為享受而閱讀的學(xué)生不僅擁有更好的詞匯、語(yǔ)法和理解力，而且對(duì)周圍的世界也有更好的了解，從而有助于身心的發(fā)育和快樂(lè)。我們的目標(biāo)是：君誠(chéng)的所有學(xué)生都培養(yǎng)出發(fā)自內(nèi)心的對(duì)閱讀的熱愛(ài)，這樣他們才會(huì)有的機(jī)會(huì)在生活中取得成功。圖書館的轉(zhuǎn)型是君誠(chéng)一直致力于實(shí)現(xiàn)這一目標(biāo)的方式之一。

　　Transformation of the Elementary School Library has reached another milestone! The new,bright and colorful decorations certainly make our library a very inviting place to be. Students are enjoying the funky furniture as well as the soft carpet and cushions. Finding books is now easy and fun. There are browsing boxes at the perfect height for the younger students and all the levelled books are clearly marked with new labels. All the non-fiction books are also easily identifiable with easy to read signs, and each book isindividually labelled so students can return them to the correct place. This will help students with the transition to the Middle School Library.

　　All the research suggests that students who read for enjoyment not only have better vocabulary, grammar and comprehension, but they also gain a better understanding of the world around them which can contribute to being happy. It is our aim at SIBS,that all students develop a love of reading so that they will have the best chance of being successful in their lives. The transformation of the library is one way that SIBS has been working towards achieving this goal.Thanks to Mrs Wang, Ms Nancy and Mr A for their help. 　　三、五年級(jí)數(shù)學(xué)探究式課程——Grade 5 math inquiry course

　　數(shù)學(xué)，是研究數(shù)量、結(jié)構(gòu)、變化、空間以及信息等概念的一門學(xué)科。在君誠(chéng)，老師們通過(guò)自制的教具，在游戲中引導(dǎo)學(xué)生探究事情發(fā)生的可能性。首先，通過(guò)師生一起玩“石頭剪刀布“、“拋硬幣”的游戲，使學(xué)生直觀感知“不確定現(xiàn)象”。其次，通過(guò)玩“翻撲克牌”和“幸運(yùn)大轉(zhuǎn)盤”，進(jìn)而研究“確定現(xiàn)象”，結(jié)合所實(shí)踐的具體情景，讓學(xué)生感受到事情發(fā)生的確定性，并能進(jìn)行準(zhǔn)確描述。本次數(shù)學(xué)課，學(xué)生在活動(dòng)過(guò)程中懂得數(shù)學(xué)存在于現(xiàn)實(shí)生活中，從而激發(fā)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)數(shù)學(xué)的興趣。

　　Mathematicsis the study of the concepts of quantity, structure, change, space and information. In SIBS, teachers use homemade teaching tools to guide students in games to explore the possibility of things happening. First of all, students and teachers played the games of "rock, paper, scissors" and"coin flip" together to make students intuitively perceive the"uncertain phenomenon". Secondly, through playing "flip CARDS" and "lucky big wheel", the "confirmation phenomenon" is further studied. In combination with the specific situationin practice, students can feel the certainty of the occurrence of things and accurately describe them. In this math class, students understood the existence of mathematics in real life in the process of activities , so as to stimulate students' interest in learning mathematics.

　　四、生物俱樂(lè)部“水培果蔬”實(shí)驗(yàn)Biology club "hydroponic fruit and vegetable" experiment

　　在生物實(shí)驗(yàn)室，同學(xué)們精心栽培的“水培果蔬”實(shí)驗(yàn)已經(jīng)進(jìn)行到了第9周。同學(xué)們?cè)谂菽�箱的蓋子適當(dāng)位置畫上圓圈，由老師用電鉆開孔器鉆出圓洞，可以將培養(yǎng)籃放入洞里。每個(gè)泡沫箱上打2-4個(gè)洞，種植2-4棵植物。上周同學(xué)們已經(jīng)育苗了小白菜、油菜和生菜種子，大部分種子已經(jīng)發(fā)芽了。做好培養(yǎng)箱，配制好營(yíng)養(yǎng)液，里面含有植物生長(zhǎng)所需的鈣、鎂、氮等無(wú)機(jī)元素。同學(xué)們將發(fā)芽的小苗放入水培籃，再將水培籃放入培養(yǎng)箱的洞里。最后將培養(yǎng)箱放在窗臺(tái)上，接受陽(yáng)光的沐浴。

　　In the biology lab, students have been carefully cultivated "hydroponic fruits and vegetables" experiment for the ninth week. Students draw a circle on the cover of the foam box. The teacher used a drill to drill a round hole where you can put the cultivate basket. Make 2-4 holes in each foam box and plant 2-4plants. Last week the students had already planted cabbage, rape and lettuce seeds, most of which had sprouted. Get the incubator and nutrient solution ready, which contains calcium, magnesium, nitrogen and other inorganic elements that plant growth needs. The students put the sprouting seedlings into the hydroponic basket, and then put the hydroponic basket into the hole of the incubator. Finally, place the incubator on the window sill and accept the sunlight.

　　五、君誠(chéng)足球隊(duì)友誼賽戰(zhàn)報(bào)Friendship match of SIBS football team

　　本周三，在一場(chǎng)友誼賽中，君誠(chéng)男子足球隊(duì)(U11組7人制)以5：0擊敗了來(lái)訪的力邁足球隊(duì)。自從去年開始參加北京國(guó)際學(xué)校BASE聯(lián)賽(全稱為Beijing Area Sports Exchange，由北京的14所國(guó)際學(xué)校組成，包含匯佳、鼎石、君誠(chéng)、青苗、王府、凱文等)以來(lái)，君誠(chéng)一直保持不俗的戰(zhàn)績(jī)，首年即奪得。

　　SIBS men's football team (out of seven in group U11) beat visiting Limai football team with 5-0 in a friendship match on Wednesday. SIBS has pacitipated in the BASE league of Beijing international schools (known as Beijing Area Sports Exchange, consist of 14 international schools in Beijing, including Huijia, Keystone, SIBS, BIBS, Royal and Kaiwen etc.) since last year, we has maintained a good record and won the championship in the first year.

　　六、藝術(shù)設(shè)計(jì)部本周剪影 Artand design department silhouette of this week

　　六七年級(jí)本周為色彩基礎(chǔ)概述，主要是從素描到色彩的過(guò)度階段，用單色顏料表現(xiàn)畫面的空間、光影、色彩。九年級(jí)繼續(xù)精微素描，主要根據(jù)學(xué)生之前的攝影作品，練習(xí)寫實(shí)的觀察能力和表現(xiàn)能力。八年級(jí)和十年級(jí)的專業(yè)課因?yàn)镻SAT考試調(diào)整到下周一進(jìn)行。

　　This week, the course for G6 and 7 is an overview of the basis of color, mainly from the sketch to the transition stage of color, use monochrome pigment to performance screen space, light, color.Grade 9 continued the fine sketch, mainly according to the students photography before, practice realistic observation and performance ability. The eighth and tenth grade major courses have been rescheduled for next Monday because of the PSAT.

　　七、八至十一年級(jí)參加PSAT考試

　　PSAT英文全稱為Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test ,對(duì)于準(zhǔn)備申請(qǐng)美國(guó)大學(xué)的學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō)，PSAT是SAT前的熱身賽，更是對(duì)美國(guó)優(yōu)秀學(xué)生獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金(national merit scholarship)的角逐。每年十月份，美國(guó)都有140多萬(wàn)11年級(jí)學(xué)生參加PAST考試。此次，君誠(chéng)的8-11年級(jí)全體參加，預(yù)計(jì)成績(jī)會(huì)在兩個(gè)月后公布。

　　PSAT,or Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test, is a Preliminary contest for students applying for American universities and a competition for the national merit scholarship. Every October, more than 1.4 million 11th-grade students inthe United States take the examination. This time, grade 8 to grade 11 students of SIBS all participated, the results are expected to be announced in two months.
